I’ll be honest with you, I have been on a bit of a creative rollercoaster over the decades. Most of what I know regarding both sewing, knitting and crochet has been self-taught, initially in the days before the youtube tutorials and other assorted sites.
Crochet & Knitting: Knitting has been a decades long passion that has taken many forms over the years. The art of crochet has been along for the ride as well, lol. The first time I’d picked up a hook and needles, it was mostly so I’d have something to do with my hands while watching TV. Quickly I realized the joy of creating something tangible. Lately, I’ve really gotten into crochet again. It’s time to fill my home with color, even if it comes in the form of granny squares.
Sewing: I’d initially learned to sew basic items as a youngling, but never engaged too much at that point. Then rediscovered the fun of this hobby in my 20s as I’d made costumes for various fandom conventions in ye old days of early 2000s. Of course, life got busy overtime and at some point I’d packed up my little Brother sewing machine and mostly forgot about it.
Then in 2020, the sewing machine was dusted off as I had time on my hands and a need to create something. Fortunately, there are so many various tutorials online that has enabled me to start relearning basics. My ultimate goal here is to share my sewing endeavors. With any luck my entire wardrobe will eventually self-crafted.
